Why do we have to buy into Holiday Inn club if they bought Silverleaf Resorts.

Why do we have to buy into Holiday Inn club if they bought Silverleaf Resorts. I already own a week bought and pd for and still have to pay their increase in dues and an exchange fee to get time with points. Doesn't make sense.

  1. Deborah - was Silverleaf a point timeshare prior to the purchase? If so, then it probably is odd. If it was only a fixed week property then it's standard practice. All orange lake owners that purchased fixed weeks had to pay a conversion fee to join the points program if they wanted to. When we purchased our first week (a resale) we were offered a one time low point package to purchase for around 5k to convert our fixed week to the points program. And due to skillful negotiating by mu husband we were actually able to convert 3 weeks from fixed weeks to points for this fee (we had picked up 2 additional weeks on ebay prior to the offer being made to us)

  2. Shouldn't have to buy into something that they want to use for points. I really think the whole thing is a scam. Unfortunately, I have been made their victim. It's cheaper to find other properties online anywhere in the world. Have been trying to sell it, but no one wants to buy it for the price I originally paid for it. They say it's increased in value, but I will never see that.
