Anyone else transfer their points to IHG Rewards Club?

Anyone else transfer their points to IHG Rewards Club? I did, and was very disapointed to see they did not count toward elite status. In the past they did.

Scott, We bought two separate times at HICV in the past two years and are purchasing at two separate resorts. I am so totally lost about how the whole thing works and can't seem to get straight answers from HICV. My husband has been injured on the job as a home inspector, and cannot continue to work. I am a Realtor (which is why I seem to buy into anything that looks good) - and I need to liquidate some debt. We are paying a mortgage on both these properties. The first is a 2 Bedroom - WV (don't know what that means) at OL, week 28 Peak - $159,000 points annually, maintenance and tax $912. The second is a 2 bedroom / B at LV, Prime week, season 1 - $148,000 points on even years, maintenance and tax $598. I have read many of the posts here - and I'm sure I sound totally ignorant - you can see I can use some advise and help. I don't know if it's even possible to sell these timeshares - because we don't truly own them. Any advise will be helpful to me. If you wish to keep this off-line, please contact me carter.anne2011@gmail.com. Thanks

Good news you maybe interested in.

Good news you maybe interested in. I purchased a resale three bedroom ambassador unit at Holiday Hills week 8 Silver 125,000 points for $100.00 in April fully transferred in September. I got an ambassador Silverleaf Card this week. I already own two company purchased high red presidential units at Holiday Hills one has endless escapes six days of bonus time and the other three days of bonus time. They can not be used at Holiday Inn Vacation Resorts (HIVR). The ambassador unit allows me to have three day bonus time on the Silverleaf side. I can bank the points and use the 125,000 points at both Silverleaf and HIVR properties during the bronze or silver time period. The only down side are I may have to pay the $59 Registration fee on the ambassador unit and I am no longer able to book multiple bonus time reservations at the same time using multiple accounts. This is much better than week 8 use it at my unit or lose it at Holiday Hills.

Hi everyone-

Hi everyone-

I have also posted this question on the HICV facebook owners page. I know that this site has some smart minds so I'm hoping someone might provide me with some direction on who I could contact for more information.

I recently purchased two resale timeshares at Smoky Mountain from Sumday Vacations. Both are 2 bedroom units in peak season with float weeks 22-31 & 51-52. I am not currently at HICV member. From looking at Smoky Mountain's weeks, these are diamond weeks and worth 154,000 points each. It is my understanding that Smoky Mountain is one of 3 points resorts where points transfer to the new owner, however Sumday does not have any information about the points values of this units.

I need to confirm with hicv/orange lake that these units have points value rather than deeded weeks and the points will transfer to me as the new owner. I have called multiple numbers and been transferred numerous times but so far can't find this information. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to help me find the information I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance for any help the group can provide. Mark

I have posted on multiple boards, but have not received much of a response.

I have posted on multiple boards, but have not received much of a response. Does anyone know if you can use the "Latitudes" (sales presentation exit return package) towards the down payment of bringing a resale week back into the system. They say it can be used as down payment for a developer week when you return and if you buy, but what about a resale week? Starwood (now VSE) calls this the "Explorer Package" and now HICV appears to have the same and Starwood allows you to do this. The Latitudes deal is actually not a bad deal itself but would like to extend it's value if it can be used to bring in a resale week.

Hi there-

Hi there-

Do all time shares at Lake Geneva, South Beach & Gatlinburg have a points value? Or are some units at these locations only have set weeks and no points?

Thanks

Found an interesting glitch on the HICV site yesterday - I made a reservation with 20K current year points and 9K borrowed points and it timed out. Since the points were still showing up in my account, I put in the reservation again and I ended up with duplicate reservations. The first one cost 29K points and the second one cost 9K points (basically both reservations tried to use the same 20K current year points). I canceled the 29K one today - it will be interesting to see what happens.

This is a question from the timeshare users group that hopefully someone here knows the answer:

This is a question from the timeshare users group that hopefully someone here knows the answer:

"Does anyone know if the HICV Latitudes package price can be used as down payment applied to bring a resale week (retro) into the system, like you can with Vistana (formally Starwood) weeks? If so, does that retro then get further credit towards elite??"

Does anyone know at Orange Lake Orlando if you buy additional points to convert a week 26, do you get the higher points every year or only on the years when 4th of July happens to fall during that week? I think the members guide lists week 26 as Holiday Season.

Hi everyone-

Hi everyone-

Have an option of buying a 80k at South Beach for very cheap. However, mf are in $7/1k range. In your opinion, is this a property to move on or walk away?

Thanks- Mark
