Woohoo!

Woohoo! 4th timeshare is showing up in my account.  I now have 400K points in odd years and 250K points in even years...I have preferred status and can book free stay, upgrade, and Signature out 3 months!  Curious to see if I keep preferred next year -not sure if odd/even count fully toward preferred, only half, or only in the year of use.  Nice to see that Signature availability beyond 2 months is very good...also confirmed that free stay has no reservation fee, so that's a nice plus.

Finally, I tracked timelines this time around:

4/30 Recorded deed mailed to Orange Lake
5/26 Orange Lake notified closing company of contract#
5/27 Contract/Preferred status showing up in account
TBD New Points showing up in account

Only downside is I paid a little more for maintenance than I would have liked - I am up to $1836/yr for 325K average points, which is $5.65/1K points (up from $5.52).

Hello Everyone.

Hello Everyone.

I'm new to the whole TS thing.

My Wife and I bought a biannual deed at Orange Lake a little over a week ago.  I knew enough to be dangerous, but that was about it.  I asked the agent why I sould buy from the devloper and not just take over the MF from a seller on E-bay?  I was told the points thing was a devloper offer only.  I have now found that resales of South Beach, Smoky Mountain and Lake Geneva have points transfers.  So, in the end I'm sure I paid way more then I should have.  My question is...  When you buy additional units off E-bay for instance; when all is settled and added to your HICV account to you end up with double maintenance fees???  Or is it averaged somehow?  Thanks for the info/ help!

Regards,

Ryan
