Does anyone on here use their points to trade into rci?

Does anyone on here use their points to trade into rci? I would like to know what the total fees are to do this (on rci side and on hicv side) and if it actually makes financial sense at times.

  1. HICV didn't charge me anything - outside of Maintenance fees and club membership. Booking a week (I've trades for several places - most recently the Edgewater Club in Wanaka, NZ) was $189 (Jerry says 229 - he could be right) plus some number of points. A 1 BR in Manhattan or a 2 BR in NZ were fewer points than a 2 BR at the desert club. If you wait until last minute you can sometimes find units that go for 15000 HICV points for a week (plus the 189).
You can also book last call vacations that don't take any points but cost $229 - $289 for a week.
Booking through the HICV website is seamless. The RCI condos show up with the HICV points listed as the points cost.
I have used RCI several times - once even to rent at the desert club - they had availability when HICV did not.
    I recommend it

  2. So I only have to pay the rci fee? There is no hicv fee to convert my points to rci? Where can I see what the rci fee actually is? I have looked on the hicv rci site and cannot find this info

  3. The annual RCI fee is already included in your HICV membership. You only pay the RCI reservation fee.
