Hi, Scott

Hi, Scott
My name is April Rivera. My husband and I purchased a timeshare in Florida -Holiday Inn Vacation Club for the Galveston location ( since we live close to this location). We are interested in selling and I feel like I am at a loss, not sure what is a scam and whats legit. You seem very knowledgeable and was hoping you could give us some advice. Thanks in advance for any information you could pass on.

  2. Scott Kotrla We have been discussing the possibility of selling. We haven't used our 2016 points yet and have been trying to decide if we want to sell now or use the points and sell next year. I'm trying to read everything I can about timeshares and you seem quite knowledgeable. Does it make the timeshare any more valuable with this year's points still there or is it too late in the season for a buyer to want them? It's even years, so the next 150,000 doesn't arrive until 2018, ,but of course maintenance fees still have to be paid each year. Does it make more sense for us to use the points, pay the fees when they come due in December, and then sell? Or would someone be interested in buying, keeping the points, and then the buyer would pay the end of the year fees? Sorry for all the questions.(I'm Canadian, we have to apologize for everything lol).

  3. Leanne Sculland Generally speaking, 2016 use will be a large component of value for a biennial unit - if you can get a buyer this year, you can try to recover that maintenance...if you can get $850 or more of value out of the 2016 use yourself, then using and selling without use makes sense.

I have the annual version of your unit for sale on the site for $2100, so if I bought your unit, I would sell it for $1050 (including closing cost).
