Has anyone here considered purchasing at a Silverleaf resort on the resale market before it gets rebranded to HICV?

Has anyone here considered purchasing at a Silverleaf resort on the resale market before it gets rebranded to HICV?  Use that method to get more points without the developer conversion cost.  I thought that might be useful, but of course you don't know how the weeks will be valued, so it would be difficult to know you are getting a good Maint$/1k point value.

  1. Based on the following link it looks like the maintenance cost is around $1000 per year.  If I am wrong then please correct me.  I am also guessing that there points value will be less than the current properties, once again an assumption.  At that maintenance fee your getting $7-$8 per 1K points.  If you were to purchase a Las Vegas unit your average costs would be $4 per $1K or less assuming a 2 BR unit.

Within a few years you would make up the cost of bringing in the Las Vegas units in to the points system.  Since these contracts are for life or as soon as you can find someone to pay to take them off of your hands you might want to consider going for the lower cost point per dollar ratio.
