Hi all

Hi all,

I'm new to the Holiday Inn Vacation. I am an owner and own two properties in Las Vegas. They give me 323,000 annual points. I am from Canada and our exchange is horrible, but I am looking to some how get to the magic 500,000 point mark without buying from the sales team at Holiday Inn. Is this possible to buy a holiday inn club vacation property off eBay and still get that status?? Would save me a bunch of money...,.

  1. This is a very interesting discussion. When I was making plans to achieve Elite status with HICV I understood that points purchased resale at points resorts within the HICV system would not count towards status. I am surprised that you have found otherwise. I found the best way for me to get value was to pay a bit more up front for resale units with high value and then buy a small unit from Holiday Inn and convert the resale units. I bought two units at Marco Island resale. The maint cost/1k points is around $4 for these units. Plus, they are signature units

  2. Chris Baur When did you buy a small unit from HICV? How much did you pay? The best deal they offered me was $8K - I was starting to acquire low maintenance fixed weeks in addition to point units, but when I realized my points units were granting status, I put off conversion.

  3. I bought in November last year and it required $8500.  It was worth it because I brought on two fixed week units worth 300K and 350K. This pushed me over the 1M threshold.
