My wife and I own units in Florida and Virginia.

My wife and I own units in Florida and Virginia. I noticed that some of the deeds are owned jointly as JTWROS and others are owned as Joint Tenants in common. I would like to change the deeds on those units so that all units are JTWROS. I would also like to include my adult children on at least one of the deeds. What is the simplest way to do this?

  1. I have a similar situation. We have deeds that were registered with slightly different names ( middle initial on some not others ). This caused OL to create separate accounts. Do wee need to do new deeds?

  2. Bill J My understanding is that HICV maps deeds to account based on SSN for a deed transfer for a standard sale - if you do a quitclaim, then the deed won't necessarily change accounts. I would call deeding and ask them to update - a quitclaim will add people to an account but not necessarily move existing deeds between accounts in my experience.
