Update on sept 18: Sunset Cove Resort Update: The resort remains closed and we do not anticipate it opening until the end of next week (9/29) at the earliest. Marco Island took a direct hit from Hurricane Irma and the impact to the area continues to slow recovery efforts. While the resort weathered the storm well, aside from some water damage, the property has limited power which has rendered the phone and fire systems unusable. Thank you for your patience as we continue to assess and repair the property. We will post an update when we have a re-open date for the property.
Was there today (Nov 1). All repairs complete except for some roof work. Units look great. Spoke to building manager and he hadn’t heard that there would be a special assessment because it’s not clear what insurance will pay for. I got the feeling that an SA is unlikely, but he didn’t say that.
HICV just updated their page to say that many rooms at sunset cove had "water intrusion". They promise more details soon.
