I have a Silver Leaf even year timeshare.

I have a Silver Leaf even year timeshare. I have two weeks and unlimited free stays Sundays-Thursdays with Saturdays & Sundays costing $50 each a night.
I have been receiving calls for almost a year from SL to come to sales and update presentation about HICV's acquisition.
My inquiry is how much do I have to spend to transfer my SL to HICV? The point system sounds awesome - especially if you can use them on hotels - is that the case? I travel for work and stay at HIE often - will those points combine with HICV?

  1. HICV requires a new retail purchase in the $8K-$10K range to convert your existing units to points. Depends on inventory they have available whether it will be more or less - in my experience price is not negotiable (I converted in January after a couple of years of discussions). Also the number of units you can convert with purchase is negotiable but the more units you want to convert, the higher approval is needed.

You can convert HICV points to IHG points at a ratio of 5:4 plus a fee starting at $69 - IHG reward night take a lot of points, so this is generally not a good use of points. It's better than losing them, but not nearly as good as just renting them out.

I'll add a pin to a previous discussion on the value of this option.
