When booking a home resort week with points, can you upgrade your room or season for additional points and still book 13 months out, or do you need to stick to your original unit type and season?

Before 13 months you are tied to your unit and week (I don't believe this period applies to float deeds)...10-13 months you can book different week/season/week unit at same resort using only points from that resort
