Just noticed that even though I lost Elite status (since all of my points are through resale), my new reservations still have free point shield - since I am a cheapskate, I never pay for point shield, and even though I have an option for paying $35, when I decline, it still shows up on the reservation and I am not charged. I really miss the occasional big upgrade, but free point shield is actually a nice benefit that you can always use.

Scott Kotrla Thanks Scott so if I do rescind am I able to still use my HICV points towards RCI resorts as well? Also can I still take advantage of the 40 days or less vacation reduced pricing web site and the MAXdeals?
