I have Elite status and was thinking about acquiring more points by purchasing Myrtle Beach property resale.
I have Elite status and was thinking about acquiring more points by purchasing Myrtle Beach property resale. However, my counselor at Orange Lake said if I do that, the points I purchase will likely be sequestered separately from my Elite points and I would not be able to use my membership status for upgrades or discounts with these points. Very troubling. She suggested I might need to get with the sales Dept and discuss the situation. No doubt they'd want me to purchase another unit from them.

I don't think they could separate like that, unless they create a second points account for the new unit, which I've never heard of. I recommend trying and seeing what happens.

I have weeks not in the program and they have a separate check box I use when I want to use those weeks. I would not be surprised if they are clamping down on anything you buy outside of their program. From recent interactions with the sales department they seamed focused on this issue.
